Miele Vacuums Are Amongst the Best
Miele has been one of the best vacuum cleaner brands available to consumers for over 20 years. There reputation was built on the high quality of there canister vacuum cleaner line, and they have becoming a major player in the upright vacuum category with there Miele S7 series product line.
Miele canister vacuums are well known for there ability to filter debris and dust before it reenters the surrounding environment, which is the case with most HEPA vacuums. Most of there canisters are designed with the Miele sealed system technology and have been certified by an unrelated company for the high air quality standard that they meet.
Filtration aside, Miele canister vacuums like the Capricorn, Callisto, and Neptune have proven to very dependable and have a very low rate of repair and are very user friendly. Miele basically makes 2 size canisters: a lightweight series where each models weighs a little under 11 lbs. and a full sized canister for larger homes.
Most Miele canisters have features like suction control, varying levels of silence insulation for quiet operation, crush proof hoses, and natural hair floor brushes. The higher line full sized canisters have even more features like electronic or automatic suction control and LED indicators, so a consumer really has a lot of choices based on needs and price range. Even the most basic Miele canisters can go toe to toe with other manufacturers better models.
The Miele S7 series features several upright models that also have different features and prices. What really stands out is the swiveling powerhead. This functionallity is usually reseverved for canister vacuum powerheads but Miele has perfected this features to the S7 upright.
The Miele Powerhouse series has 2 models that are for consumers looking for a basic upright vacuum with great filtration and a motor bypass system, meaning debris removed from your carpet goes straight through a hose to the bag, and doesn't come in contact with the vacuum motor.
Miele vacuum cleaners are arguably amongst the best in the industry. They used to be available at vacuum shops only, but there starting to pop up at retail outlets. I recommend buying your Miele from an actual vacuum store because the staff will be very knowledable and can aid you in your purchasing decision. Buy it from a retail outlet and you'll probably be asking the person who doesn't have any hands on vacuum experience whatsoever.
Miele Vacuum Reviews
The Miele Capricorn canister vacuum is one of the best if not the best canister vacuum sold for residential use. The Capricorn vacuum has just about every feature and enhancement you could ask for in a vacuum. It's an exceptional vacuum for pet owners and people with medium to large sized homes.
The Miele Capricorn actually has the suction controls on the ergonomic vacuum hose handle. These controls are right at your fingertips. This make cleaning lighter carpet or rugs an easier task, as you can conveniently reduce your suction to avoid pulling the carpet up into the vacuum. This is the only Miele vacuum cleaner designed to clean carpet and hard floors that has this feature.
The Capricorn vacuum can and should be upgraded to include a full-sized powerhead, which I strongly recommend. The upgraded powerhead has a light, bumpers, and adjust automatically to the height of the surface you are cleaning. We feel this vacuum definately warrants the full sized powerhead upgrade based on the price and peformance of the canister. Every Miele vacuum dealer offers the larger head so make sure you get it.
Miele's 1200 watt, patented Vortex motor system working in combination with the electrically driven powerhead will really make pet owners happy. This canister will be able to handle the pet hair from heavy shedding animals, keeping your carpet as clean as a vacuum can.
Miele Capricorn's filtration system includes a Miele HEPA filter, and recieved and "Excellent Air Quality" rating from the DMT Air Quality Institute. Various canister vacuums have HEPA filters, but this rating involves the entire vacuum cleaner and not just the quality of the filter. A vacuum can have a great HEPA filter and still leak dust and debris back into the air as it is operating. This is definately not the case with the Miele Capricorn and the DMT ratings acts a proof to this.
The Capricorn also comes with a natural hair floor brush tool for smooth surface cleaning, on board tools (crevice, upholstery, upholstery) that fit conveniently on the top of the canister.
You will also enjoy the fact that there very little noise to be heard while running the Capricorn vacuum. It is insulated to minimize noise during operation and is extremely quiet. Although this is not a small vacuum, all of these features only end up adding to a total weight under 14 lbs, which is pretty light for a vacuum of this size especially of this level of quality. The Miele Capricorn canister vacuum is not inexpensive. I have been around Miele vacuum cleaners for years and I have noticed that really don't require any real maintenance outside of filter and bag changes, so this investment should really take care of your vacuum needs for years.
Miele Capricorn Canister Vacuum
Pros: Has everything you could need or use in a canister vacuum (power, crush proof hose, electronic suction control, great floor cleaning tools, extremely quiet, superior filtration)
Cons: Expensive. More than most people spend on a vacuum.
The Miele Polaris canister vacuum is a very good choice for consumers who have small to mid-sized homes that are comprised of mostly hard surface floors with a few rugs and carpets. The Polaris is a very durable and lightweight 10.5 lb. canister with the power of a full sized canister vacuum.
The Miele Polaris is an updated version of the Miele Carina. When I say updated, I mean they changed the color from melon yellow to light blue. Not much of an update, buy why mess with a good thing. When a vacuum manufacturer makes minimal changes to a product, that's normally a good thing and it keeps it simple when you're looking for bags and filter replacements.
The Polaris compact canister features a rug / floor combo tool for various surfaces. You can control the suction of the machine via a rotary dial that has 6 control setting. I like to reduce the suction when I need to vacuum drapes or small rugs, so this is a good feature.
Miele Polaris canisters has cleaning tools that mount to the wand for easy access. It has a fairly large area and good filtration. You can take the filtration level of the machine up a notch by purchasing a HEPA replacement exhaust filter if you have allergies or asthma. This vacuum also features Miele's sealed system construction, so you won't be blasting out any debris or dust from this canister before it reaches the bag.
The Polaris is aggressively priced around $399 based on our research, which is very reasonable for a premium canister vacuum cleaner, but more than most lesser compact canister cost that are not designed to clean home with a lot of carpet. We have found them to be very durable.
The Polaris canister vacuum also features a 29.5 foot operating radius, an overheating lamp, a safety shut off features to protect your patented Miele Vortex canister motor, and an automatic cord rewind. Don't let the compact size fool you on this model, it's powerful and still has enough room inside for a 3.75 quart dust bag.
Miele Polaris Vacuum - Canister
Pros: Excellent performance, Great suction, Adjustable suction control, Superior filtration in it's class.
Cons: High quality but kind of expensive for a canister that does not clean wall to wall homes.
The Miele Neptune compact canister vacuum cleaner is one of the best compact vacuum cleaners on the market. The Miele Neptune encapsulates superior filtration, durable, and powerful suction.
Know as the Miele Antares in a past life, The Miele Neptune canister is very light at just 10.5 lbs. It is also exceptionally quiet and comes with a carpet cleaning turbo brush head and a parquet floor brush.

The gasket reinforced canister design combined with the multi-level filtration of this canister results in a vacuum that produces the lowest amount of emission we have experienced in a vacuum.
The Neptune canister is also an extremely quiet vacuum while operating. This is a result of the sealed system design combined with silence insulation. AS you would expect, it comes with the standard crevice, dusting, upholstery nozzle combination of tools. This canister also ships with a Parquet floor brush. The floor brush has natural hair and acts a cushion for gentle floor cleaning.
If that isn't enough, the Miele Neptune is powered by a 1200 watt canister motor that has a 7 year warranty. You will also receive a 1 year warranty on all wearable parts, but make sure you buy your Miele vacuum from an authorized dealer.
Rounding out the features of the Miele 4212 Neptune canister vacuum cleaner is a rotary dial suction control located on the body of the canister, a dust change indicator, and an auto rewind cord.
The Miele Neptune canister is an excellent choice for a consumer who desired a high quality canister vacuum that is extremely lightweight. This vacuum will do an outstanding job cleaning low to medium pile carpets and hard / smooth surface floors in your home. The Neptune, like all Miele vacuums can also boast an extremely low rate of repair, so expect to be using this vacuum for a while.
Miele Compact Canister S4212 Neptune
