Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Overview
The Eureka vacuum company is on of the few manufacturers that makes a vacuum cleaner for every need. Eureka makes lightweight stick vacuums, uprights, canisters, hand-held, floor sanitizers, and even central systems. Sanitiare, which is more or less Eureka is known for their commercial vacuum models. Most vacuum cleaner companies only focus on a few types of vacuums but Eureka really has every angle covered.
Eureka vacuums are available at most of your big box and various retail outlets. You might want to get a look and a price from a nearby store, and buy your Eureka online. There's a lot of Eureka vacuum competition online and we have have found prices consierably lower than in some retail outlets, and you'll most likely find a deal with free shipping. Regardless of where you buy your Eureka, we really like the uprights. They perform very well for the price, and specific models have garnered positive reviews and ratings in various consumer publications.
When shopping for a Eureka, don't just go by the name of the vacuum, get the model number. For example, Eureka has made a Eureka Boss model in just about every size, shape and form (upright, canister, etc) available, so the name by istself really means nothing when your comparing or shopping for Eureka vacuums.
We prefer the Eureka upright models that use vacuum bags and HEPA filters to minimize the emissions the vacuum produces. The lighter weight Eureka vacuums are usually bagless at this point in time, and they are a very inexpensive alternative to some name brand lightweight vacuums. We prefer bagged vacuum cleaners in general, but the Eureka bagless models compare favorably to other retail bagless vacuums.
We really like the Santiaire commercial vacuum line. The majority of these commercial vacs share a very similar and traditional design and the are very easy to repair. The differences between these vacuums are usually specific to the power of the motor and the vacuum bag style (dump out, dump out cup, bagged). Eureka and Sanitiare share models that use the same size belts and bags, so the're easy to find in most supermarkets or online.
Eureka really provides a lot of choices and features in there vacuum product line. Replacement filters, bags, and belts are easy to find. Whether you're looking for a small, inexpensive canister or a good upright vacuum for your carpet, Eureka has a lot of choices at a very moderate price.
Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Reviews
If you are looking for a cheap canister vacuum to clean your home or garage, the Eureka Mighty Mite canister vac is a very popular and a very good choice. This small, 9 lb. canister cost under $120. It is a very basic canister vacuum. It doesn't have a brush roller for carpet. It is really just for smooth surface flooring.
If you have recently purchased a lightweight vacuum that doesn't have attachments or your looking for an inexpensive way to clean the floors around your apartment, the Eureka Mighty Mite canister vacuum cleaner is a sound choice for the price.
The Eureka Mighty Mite canister has standard filtration, so the only replacement parts you will need to continue to purchase are Eureka MM vacuum bags. It has a motor filter, but that can generally be shake out if you don't want to spend a couple of dollars on a new one. The Eureka Mighty Mite comes equipped with a floor brush and even has a blower port (nice option to unclog a hose if needed). If you need additional cleaning accessories, there is a mini tool set available for approximately $13 to $20. The set is made up of 2 dusting brushes, a crevice tool, a small hose and an adapter for the hose. The Eureka part # of the set is 54002 if you're interested.
This is a good, no frills basic canister vacuum cleaner. It's has pretty strong suction and does an adequate job of cleaning limited surfaces. It's not a replacement for a carpet cleaning canister. Sometimes less is more, and if you just want to clean your kitchen floors, your car, or the garage with an inexpensive canister vacuum, the Eureka Mighty Mite is a very good choice.
Eureka Mighty Mite Compact Canister Vacuum
Pros: Good value for the price. They tend to last if you don't beat on them.
Cons: Not for carpet. More for garage or utility room floors.
The bagless Eureka Capture and Capture + upright vacuum series are very good choices for a consumer who is looking for a good bagless vacuum cleaner for less than $200. They are relatively similar so we have grouped the Eureka Capture and Capture + upright vacuums together for the sake of our review. There are several available vacuum models in each series. The Capture+ is a little more expensive because it includes some improved features, but the Capture+ we researched were still under $200 and cleaned as well as the some more expensive bagless vacuums we tested.
The Capture+ series has some excellent feature upgrades, like Eureka's patented sealed system HEPA filtration and an extra wide 15" cleaning path. If you have a pet in the home or anybody has allergies, the Capture+ series is a better choice than the Capture. If you're not concerned with either of these features, save a few dollars and select a regular Eureka Capture model.
The Eureka Capture and Capture + bagless uprights we researched all have 12 amp motors, excellent edge cleaning ability and included the Eureka PowerPaw turbo brush for cleaning stairs. They all performed well on carpet and bare floors when compared to other upright vacuums in there price range.
When you're researching which of these Eureka upright bagless vacuums is right for you, pay attention to the features. Most of differences are going to be slight, but they may be important to you. For example, when comparing the Eureka Capture+ and the Capture+ Pet Lover models you will notice that the Pet Lover models has a charcoal filter for odor elimination.
While both the EUreka Capture and Capture+ vacuums are very good bargains for a consumer looking to buy for a moderately priced bagless vacuum, we recommend the Capture+ based on the improved filtration system and the extra wide cleaning path.
The Capture+ may cost you approximately $50 more than the regular Eureka Capture, but we consider the improved filtration abilities to be substantial and the wider cleaing path is adds the convenience these vacuum cleaners offer if you are cleaning a home with large, open areas.
Eureka makes so many different models of each vacuum that it's hard to keep track of what is what. If you buy a Capture or Capture Plus you should make sure the Power Paw brush attachement is included. It is an air driven carpet cleaning attachement that fits onto the hose. It is an excellent accessory and is becoming increasing common in the vacuum industry.
Eureka Capture Plus 8851
Pros: Great value for the price. Easy to use. Removed debris from carpeting well. Suction comparable to Dyson and other more expensive vacs.
Cons: Not the most rugged vacuum, but reasonable for the price range. Does not outperform the price range.
